Highway 55 Project
Plymouth to Rockford

Project Home Overview Project Maps Project Contacts

Needs/Benefits

Project Needs

Highway 55 is a High Priority Regional Corridor that connects the rapidly growing communities in western Hennepin County and Wright County.  Increases in development along the corridor are resulting in current traffic and safety issues.  The area will continue to grow over the next 40 years and therefore, traffic conditions along the corridor are likely to worsen.  This will severely compromise the functionality of the facility and negatively affect communities in the region.

Project Benefits

The Highway 55 project will begin the steps to provide a safer and more efficient roadway by creating a design that will increase capacity and improve access control.
